ABOUT

Dr. Emma K. Stapp’s long-range vision for the Healthspan Lab is to contribute to the restoration of healthspan of persons experiencing or at risk for complex neuropsychiatric disorders (particularly bipolar disorder, and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD)) in our lifetime, and in the process, generate insights and scalable approaches to reduce mental and physical suffering due to neuropsychiatric dysregulation and accelerated aging more broadly in the population.

In pursuit of that, we are interested in interventions–both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic–to promote recovery and prevent or reduce excess morbidity and mortality linked to neuropsychiatric dysregulation across the life course, as well as research focused on more fundamental processes such as those influencing development, maintenance versus recovery (including identification and risk stratification), and consequences of neuropsychiatric conditions.
